Amandeep Tamber
My name is Amandeep Tamber, and I am the Education Safeguarding and Wellbeing Officer and sit within the Education Improvement & Partnerships Service (EIP).
I have over 25 years of experience in Primary Education and have dedicated my career to supporting children and young people to achieve their full potential. As an experienced senior leader, I have led across a range of key areas within schools, including teaching and learning, assessment, safeguarding, and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
Safeguarding is at the heart of everything I do. I have been a Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for over 12 years and am deeply committed to ensuring that children are safe, supported, and able to thrive both in and beyond education.
I firmly believe that effective safeguarding is fundamental to achieving positive outcomes for children and young people. Through strong partnerships with schools, families, and multi-agency professionals, I strive to ensure that children are heard, respected, and given every opportunity to flourish in safe, supportive, and nurturing environments.
As the Education Safeguarding and Wellbeing Officer, I work closely with schools to promote and strengthen safeguarding practice across Hillingdon. I am committed to fostering a culture where safeguarding is everyone's responsibility and where leaders feel confident and supported in meeting their safeguarding duties.
How I Can Help
I can support schools by:
- Providing advice and guidance on safeguarding matters and statutory safeguarding responsibilities.
- Supporting Designated Safeguarding Leads (DSLs) in their role and helping them navigate complex safeguarding concerns.
- Leading and facilitating the Hillingdon DSL Cluster meetings to promote collaboration, information sharing, and best practice.
- Visiting schools to offer advice, challenge, and support in relation to safeguarding processes and procedures.
- Supporting schools in reviewing and strengthening their safeguarding systems and practice.
- Advising on safeguarding policies, procedures, and compliance with national guidance and local expectations.
- Working alongside school leaders and multi-agency partners to improve outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.
- Promoting a whole-school culture of safeguarding and wellbeing.
