Experienced Headteacher Mentors for our new Headteacher Colleagues
This is a request for existing, experienced heads to offer themselves as peer mentors for some of our new headteachers. Last year, some of you gave your time to support our new headteachers and we are asking for volunteers this year.
If you agree, we will pair you up with a new headteacher and ask you to meet with them over the term to help them navigate the role they've taken on. Last year, new headteachers said they found it very useful. One pairing even had joint SLT meetings a few times. If you are interested, please reply to education@hillingdon.gov.uk
We also have a request from a deputy headteacher who is looking for a secondary headteacher to undertake an interview for a headteacher role and provide her with feedback. Again, if you are interested in helping, please contact us on the email above.
Business Performance & Intelligence Team Updates
· Autumn School Census - Disability Access Fund Indicator
We have further researched this indicator and have added the DfE's specification in the attached PDF file.
The Disability Access Fund is only for three and four years olds and to be eligible, a parent has to be receiving Disability Living Allowance for this child. The school should retain a copy of evidence of this in case they need to provide as part of an audit.

Help to Support West London's Young Entrepreneurs
The West London Business Awards are now being open for submissions. One of the awards clusters - Next Generation - has dedicated categories focussed on supporting young entrepreneurs (under 12's; 13-18; 19-24) and they have just announced a partnership with Amazon who will be providing a package of support worth over £1,000 to help them take their initiatives to the next stage. This is a great prize for the winners (and potentially something for the runners up) which they are keen to promote to our schools and colleges.
