Karen Berry

I am the newest member of the School Placement and Admissions team, having only joined in January 2024. I am excited to be part of the team.

I am responsible for administering In-Year applications for secondary school age children in accordance with the Council's published admissions policy, School Admissions Code, and legislative requirements.

Prior to this, I worked for nine years in a large secondary school, as Data Officer. I also have experience as Admissions Officer, coordinating In-Year admissions, as well as taking a lead in the Secondary School transfer each September.

I am already developing positive working relationships with all the Admissions Officers within the schools, and working collaboratively, we will succeed in getting as many children into school, as seamlessly as possible.

Every child deserves to be in education and to feel they are part of a school community. I hope that by doing my job well, I can make that happen.
