Director's Message - 1st June 2020
Dear Colleagues,
I know that many schools were busy working over half-term to prepare for the extended phased return of new transition groups. I hope today has gone as smoothly as possible with the additional children.
The DfE updates are available via our FAQs and the key areas are highlighted below:
- Attendance - recording and dis-application guidance, along with the DfE's daily returns. Schools will need to provide data on how many children are attending in eligible year groups, numbers of vulnerable and critical workers' children, number of staff. This will need to be completed daily, and schools should resume taking attendance registers.
- EHC plans legislation modification.
- FSM update relating to providing meals for pupils attending school, the national voucher scheme and using your food provider.
- Videos to help parents and children understand social distancing
This fortnight's School Leaders' Briefings Articles are:
- Alternative Data Collation System - Cancellation of Statutory Assessments 2020
- FfT Aspire update
- RSE Readiness Survey
- Tutors for Gypsy, Roma and Travellers (GRT) project during school closures
- SWITCH Year 6 to Year 7 Transition Support - online group proposal
To access these articles, please go straight to SLB on LEAP.
Thank you to the schools that responded to our reopening survey; for schools that requested LA support, you will be contacted by a member of my team this week. For any other schools that need support, please continue to request this through education@hillingdon.gov.uk.
Best wishes for the rest of this week.
