Director's Message - 8th June 2020
Dear Colleagues,
We are now in the second week of our phased return for more primary children, and the majority of our schools have been able to extend provision and support their communities. All secondary schools are on track to extend their provision from next week.
This week's DfE updates are available via our FAQs, with the key areas highlighted below:
- Vulnerable children prioritised to return to schools should include children living in temporary accommodation and those that are young carers.
- Funding is available specifically for alternative provisions and colleges offering alternative provision, to support their year 11 students with their onward transition into post-16 settings. The guidance includes details of eligibility, how the fund will work and what the funding should be spent on.
- Schools Governors can access an LA and DfE update here.
- The RSE statutory duty will take place in September 2020 as planned, however schools that are not prepared will have some flexibility - please see attached letter.
For school support, please continue to email education@hillingdon.gov.uk.
Regards
Dan
