Director's Message - 22nd June 2020
Dear Colleagues,
On Friday we all heard the latest news from the government regarding £1 billion Covid-19 catch up package. A summary has been added to our FAQs, with the key areas highlighted below:
- £650 million to be shared across primary and secondary schools in 2020/21.
- Head teachers to decide how to spend this funding, with the expectation for small group tuition.
- A National Tutoring Programme worth £350 million will also be in place for 2020/21 for disadvantaged children.
- The Education Endowment Fund has published a guide for Head teachers to support them with planning.
- The government's ambition is that all providers running holiday clubs and activities for children over the summer holiday will be able to open, if the science allows.
School reports on pupil performance guidance has also been updated to confirm that regulations have been laid to remove the requirement to report on national curriculum assessments and attendance, and explain the different requirements of annual and school leaver reports.
