Learning and Development (Apprenticeship Advice, Support & Guidance)

Summary of Service

At The London Borough of Hillingdon, we understand that schools are either currently using or reviewing Apprenticeship training programmes because of the introduction of "The Apprenticeship Levy".

Apprenticeship advice, support, and guidance SLA (Service Level Agreements) will provide schools with a dedicated advisory service that will save time in researching and contacting a variety of sources to obtain an appropriate response.

By purchasing this SLA schools will have access to The Learning & Development - Early Careers Officer who leads on all areas for implementing apprenticeship schemes within The London Borough of Hillingdon.

Our Early Careers Officer will liaise with you all as levy-paying schools to help you understand the apprenticeship process, so that your school gains maximum benefit and use of their "Apprenticeship Levy Pot".

To support school's further, we can also support with the following areas:

· Advice on apprenticeship training programme for all school related Apprenticeship standards.

· Advice on training agreements, Apprenticeship Agreement and Commitment Statement.

· Advice on replacement of old frameworks with the new standards.

· Advice on the End Point Assessment (EPA) process, mandatory as part of a levy funded programme.

· Access to our Lead Provider and associated providers for training and advice.

· Obtain value for money from, the levy expenditure.

· Track and access their online account for funding and payment to providers.

· Share updates from The Education & Skills Funding Agency regarding guidance and best practice.

· Utilise apprenticeships as a tool to improve recruitment and retention.

· Make Apprenticeship training attractive to new recruits or existing staff.

· Advice on how apprentices will meet the 20% off the job training requirement.

· Attend school career fairs and presentations to highlight apprenticeship programmes.

· Prioritise the roles that need to be filled by offering Apprenticeships.

Service available

A varied range of advice, guidance, and support for all apprenticeship programmes available to staff in schools, covering a range of topics and subject areas. By purchasing this SLA, the person responsible for apprenticeships within schools will receive access to this dedicated service.

Service standards

We will endeavour to provide the best possible advice and support available at the time. Attention will be always paid to equality of access and opportunity.

Monitoring and evaluation

All modules include an evaluation element, seeking delegate feedback. This evaluation data is monitored on a regular basis to update and improve our provision based on customer feedback.

School's responsibilities

To ensure that the person responsible at schools contact details remain up to date or advise L&D of any changes To advise Learning and Development of any standards that they would like to see developed and available via a Trailblazer group and encourage schools to be part of these groups. To ensure that the annual payment is made at the start of the budget year.

Costs

Advice / Support / Guidance

£200 per annum will give access to advice on all standards currently available, as well as any that are developed during the budget year April 2023 - March 2024. Schools will also have access to our Lead Provider and other providers that The London Borough of Hillingdon will be working with.
