Director's Message - 21st September 2020

Dear Colleagues,

Well done for getting through a second full week and one that no doubt had both its challenges and successes. Below is a reminder of school actions required when you have a confirmed case of Covid-19.

The current action list for symptomatic children in Early Years, Schools and Further Education is also attached, along with an NHS flow chart that schools may wish to share with parents when deciding whether to send their children to school.

The full update on Covid-19 guidance, including how schools should continue to ensure protective measures, can be accessed via our FAQs on LEAP.

Action to be taken for confirmed case of Covid-19

Schools are reminded to use the following steps when they have a confirmed case of Covid-19. Specific actions will be decided based on the individual case needs. Advice, guidance and communication templates will be provided by the DfE / PHE.

The school should contact the following 3 teams when they have a confirmed case - in this order:

  1. DfE Helpline on 0800 046 8687 and selecting option 1  - this will be triaged and referred to PHE accordingly.
  2. LBH Public Health Team (01895 250095)
  3. School Improvement Service (education@hillingdon.gov.uk)
