Reminder that Pupils aged 11+ must wear face coverings on public transport and required areas
It has been raised with the local police that some young people from Hillingdon Schools are failing to wear face coverings around Uxbridge in the appropriate areas and on public transport.
Whilst I'm sure most pupils are adhering to the guidelines, please could a message be sent out to both your pupils and their parents to remind them of their responsibilities around this.
Essentially unless the young person is under 11, or has a physical illness, mental ill or disability, or without being caused severe distress they should be wearing face coverings when on public transport, entering shops and other buildings where coverings are required.
If they fail to do so then ultimately for those repeat offenders, the individual who is responsible for them can be issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice which carries a £200 fine!
If you would like any further information or support with getting the message out to the pupils, please contact Allyson Keith on Allyson.keith@met.police.uk or on 07766 497676.
