Early Years Funding - Disability Access Fund (DAF)
This is a reminder that funding is available to aid access to Early Years places for children with disabilities, by supporting providers in making reasonable adjustments to their settings and/or helping with building capacity. Settings with children eligible for DAF will be entitled to a one-off payment of £615 per year.
Three and four year olds will be eligible for the DAF if they meet the following criteria;
● the child is in receipt of child disability living allowance and;
● the child receives free early education (children do not have to take up the full 570 hours of early education they are entitled to in order to receive the DAF).
The funding is only for 3 and 4 year olds in Nurseries not those in Reception classes.
Schools are responsible for identifying eligible children and you are encouraged to speak to parents in order to find out who is eligible for the DAF.
If you do have any eligible children please could you e-mail schoolfinancereturns@hillingdon.gov.uk with details. In order to make payment of the DAF, the Local Authority needs to be satisfied that the child in question is receiving disability living allowance and therefore you will need to submit evidence (for example a copy of the child's disability living allowance award letter).
