Community Schools Admissions Arrangements Consultation
As set out in the School Admissions Code, Admission authorities must set ('determine') admission arrangements annually. Where changes are proposed to admission arrangements, the admission authority must first publicly consult on those arrangements. Consultation must be for a minimum of 6 weeks and must take place between 1 October and 31 January of the school year before those arrangements are to apply.
Hillingdon is the admissions authority for all Hillingdon Community schools and we will be consulting for 8 weeks from 5 October 2020 until 30 November 2020 for changes to the admission criteria to be implemented for admission from September 2022.
Summary of proposed changes:
● To remove the nodal point at Deanesfield Primary School as it no longer serves pupils living a further distance from the school with little or no priority access to other schools.
● To award 'Children of Staff Working at a Community School' as a higher priority than pupils living nearest the school within the priority distance radius/defined boundary area.
● Replace 'psychological' with 'social' in the medical criteria description.
● Reduce the Published Admission Number for Ruislip Gardens Primary School from 90 to 60 from 2022 . This reduction will also reduce the distance priority radius from 1000m to 750m in line with our admissions arrangements
