Director's Message - 16th October 2020

Dear Colleagues,

As the Government moves London into Tier 2 lockdown from midnight today, school leaders will want to find out whether there are changes to the Guidance for schools.

According to the new Tier 2 guidance, the government has prioritised ensuring all children can attend school safely, to support their wellbeing and education and help working parents and guardians. In terms of face coverings, the fact that London will be in Tier 2 lockdown due to the high rate of coronavirus transmissions does not lead to the Government automatically changing the DfE guidance on wearing face masks within the schools. 

The DfE School Face Coverings guidance remains the same, which was issued on 26 August 2020.  

I will keep you updated if there is any change to the Government's guidance in this regard.
