Parent Support for Hillingdon Families Whose Children are at Risk of Exploitation
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and its associated pressures, we know that parents are struggling more than ever. Therefore the London Borough of Hillingdon are delighted to be able to bring a new fully funded service which enhances the current offer to parents of adolescents at risk in Hillingdon, funded by The Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC) .
This programme enables, 15 volunteer Parent/carer Champions to support 50 families, particularly those from marginalised communities.
Therefore, do you have any parents whom you feel would benefit from weekly support from one of our Parent Champions over the next eight weeks? We are looking for families who meet the following criteria.:
Male children aged 12-17 years of age; and
- Families who reside in the Hayes, West Drayton or Yiewsley areas.
In addition, challenges can include any of the following:
- Persistent disruptive behaviour at school;
- Alienation from the family whilst at home or outdoors;
- Inappropriate use of social media or online technology;
- Vulnerable due to additional needs;
- Involved in substance misuse; or
- Suffering with social, emotional and mental health issues.
As time is of the essence, if you do have any parents you feel would benefit from this intervention please use the following link to refer your clients and tick the 'MOPAC' option within the Local Authority category:
