Sue Hynds

Early Years Advisory Teacher

I began my journey into the world of Early Years in the late 1970's when I trained and qualified as a Nursery Nurse (NNEB) I worked as a nanny and in a Social Services Day Nursery whilst studying for my A levels to enable me to train and qualify as a teacher. I gained my BEd in 1986, specialising in teaching 3-8 year olds. Across my teaching career I have worked predominantly in Early Years, teaching in both Nursery and Reception classes. I was successful in being recognised as an Advanced Skills Teacher for Early Years in 1999.

For the last 20 years I have worked as an Early Years Advisory teacher and now have the responsibility for leading the Early Years Quality Improvement team. We support all Ofsted registered providers in the delivery of first-class care and Education to young children. Support, advice and guidance is provided on all aspects of the EYFS and can range from safeguarding and welfare requirements, assessment and planning, learning and development, providing a stimulating environment for effective learning both indoors and outdoors and to what teaching and adult interactions look like in the early years.

I am passionate about children getting the very best start in life and believe fully that the Early Years truly sets the foundations for lifelong learning. It is essential that we build respectful and warm relationships with families and parents to enable effective partnership working to ensure that children make the very best progress.
