Nicola Kelly

As a Virtual School Officer within Hillingdon Virtual School, I ensure the young people in the care of Hillingdon Local Authority have the support to overcome any barriers to their learning. I feel privileged to work with inspiring young people every day to help them achieve their full academic potential. 

I previously worked for a national educational charity who support vulnerable children which involved working directly with children and young people in their education setting. Within this role I was responsible for overseeing and developing strategies to engage Looked After Children across the network. This stemmed a passion to become more involved in the education of Looked After Children, leading me to join the Hillingdon Virtual School team. 

Within my role at the Virtual School, I work with all age groups and specifically our Early Years children, supporting their transition into school. I recognise the importance of always advocating to ensure the voice of the child is heard and promote their involvement in decision making.
