Hillingdon MASH

Hillingdon Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) is a multi-agency team whose information sharing makes it easier for social workers to decide on the best type of intervention needed to protect the child and support the family, and means families get the right help quicker.

Hillingdon Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub

When a child protection referral is made to children's services the MASH team will review the information and decide on the best course of action to safeguard that child. It is a multi-agency team with representatives from the following services:

  • Children's social care
  • Police
  • Independent domestic violence advocacy
  • Education
  • Probation
  • Health
  • Housing
  • Hillingdon Drug and Alcohol Service (HDAS/ARCH)
  • CNWL Community Mental Health Service

The MASH model means that information from different agencies can be shared quickly, so social workers can build up a better picture of the child's life from the outset. This makes it easier for social workers to decide on the best type of intervention needed to protect the child and support the family as needed, and means families get the best outcome to meet their needs.

If social worker intervention is not required, the MASH will step down enquiries and signpost to various agencies within the borough to provide support to the child and family without the need for Children's Services involvement.

Each MASH team member has access to their own agency's database and can lawfully share this information in a safe and managed way.

Outside of office hours, please call the Emergency Duty Team on 01895 250 111.

If you think a crime has been committed and/or a child is at immediate risk, you should notify the police without delay by dialling 999.
