Tajinder Bhojani

Senior Admissions and Access Officer

I have worked for the London Borough of Hillingdon since 2010 and joined the School Placement and Admissions Team in 2018. When I first joined the team, I was the lead officer for in year secondary admissions. Through this role I built strong relationships with admissions officers in Secondary Schools, and I worked closely with our Virtual School, Attendance Support and Children Missing Education Teams.

I am now a Senior Admissions and Access Officer within the School Placement and Admissions Team. I have extensive knowledge across all aspects of school admissions which has allowed me to step into this position. I provide support and advice service to schools on statutory admissions issues as part of the School Placement and Admissions Team. I take a lead on complex admissions work and take responsibility for the statutory requirements of appeals, consultations, placement planning, and any project work related to the improvement of the service.

I oversee the Fair Access Panel and Interim Provision referrals to ensure children who are hard to place or vulnerable have access to education. I work closely and collaboratively with teams within Hillingdon and external agencies including children who are at risk or have been permanently excluded, children who are known to children's social care and the youth justice service.

I am dedicated to supporting our vulnerable children so that they and their families have a positive experience of the school admissions procedure. I strive to ensure that all children have access to an appropriate education that they deserve, and which meets their needs.
