Chloe Rock
Virtual School Officer for Children with a Social Worker
As a Virtual School Officer at Hillingdon Virtual School, I support a cohort of Looked After Children across all aspects of their education, with the aim of improving their educational outcomes. I work closely with the professional network around children and young people to ensure a child-centred and solution focussed approach to challenges within education.
I hold a master's degree in Children's Psychological Disorders from Cardiff University and an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Reading. I have previously worked as a Specialist Teaching Assistant in a Specialist School for young people with ASD and/or PMLD. Prior to joining the Virtual School, I was working as Pastoral Lead for Key Stage Three and Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead in a Secondary School in Southeast London. Part of this role required me to work alongside the local Virtual School, inspiring my interest in working within one myself.
My psychological understanding and experience of working with vulnerable young people has equipped me with the skillset to support Looked After Children across the borough. I value forming positive trusting relationships with the children and young people I work with, advocating for them at all times.
