SEND Service 'Meet The Team' Event for SENCOs

Dan Cowling Headteacher at Oak Wood School has agreed to host a SEND Service 'Meet the Team' event for SENDCo's. Organised for the afternoon of Wednesday 22 June 2022 from 3pm to 5pm at Oak Wood School.

This will be an informal opportunity for all SENDCos, both primary and secondary to meet with the Hillingdon SEND Service at the school.  Dan will organise parking and refreshments.

Apprentice Opportunity - Customer Service Apprentice - Please share with Staff & Parents 

Hillingdon Council are seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focused individual for this role of Customer Service Apprentice, studying for a Level 3 qualification in Customer Service.  The Customer Service Apprentice will support the Maintenance Service's Complaints & Risk Manager to investigate, respond to and resolve queries, complaints and legal cases about repairs that are received from residents, other Council departments, Hillingdon councillors and local MPs. 

Salary range: £12,543 - £12,543 per year

Managing Behaviour that Challenges Webinar

These twilight sessions provide practical solutions in dealing with challenging behaviour in and outside the classroom.  The course will cover current perspectives of behaviour in schools; behaviour that challenges us; impact of trauma, bereavement, separation - linked to gaps in development; attachment theory and impact on behaviour; troubleshooting; Emotional literacy and de-escalation and restoration.

Free Webinar (Cleo the Crocodile) with Dr Karen Treisman MBE  - Tuesday 7th and Wednesday 8th June - 9.30 am - 4 pm 

Hillingdon Virtual School is delighted to be welcoming back Dr Karen Treisman to deliver a 2 day live Webinar on Cleo the Crocodile, which centres on helping children who are afraid to get close.    

This webinar is particularly well suitable for all professionals working with vulnerable children.

Work Experience in the NHS (virtual)  

Imperial  College Healthcare NHS Trust have a very good virtual work experience opportunity for young people planning to study, or studying, science A'levels.
