NEW Way to Contact the Hillingdon LADO

Please see information linked below on the new way to contact the Hillingdon LADO and the new LADO process.

Can we please request you start to use this new process straight away. From 16th October this will be the only route for all new contact with the LADO.

Hate Crime Workshops

Please see the below information regarding hate crime workshops which are specifically designed for young people and include a general introduction to hate crime including current statistics.  They cover various stands of hate crime and their impacts on the communities. The sessions also have a special focus on learning various methods of challenging and reporting hate crime.     

Time duration: 45 minutes   

Suitable for: Year 6 and above/ 25 to 30 students per session   

Learning Activities:   

  • A detailed presentation on discrimination and hate crime.   
  • Detailed discussions on five centrally monitored strands of hate crime.   
  • Online safety and reporting hate crime on social media websites    
  • The importance of challenging and reporting hate crime.    
  • Barriers to reporting hate crime.    
  • How to report hate crime and get support for the victims

 National Hate Crime Awareness Week

It is National Hate Crime Awareness Week taking place from 14th - 21st October 2023. We are encouraging schools to participate in artwork made by pupils challenging hate that we could showcase at the libraries and promote on our social media channels.  Please contact Rehman for further information.

 


Primary Music Co-ordinator Deep Dive Training

The Education Improvement & Partnership Team are pleased to be delivering this session on Tuesday 14th November at 4 - 5.30 pm via MS Teams.

It will look at inspection preparation for music leaders, co-ordinators and teachers. To include the six stages of the OFSTED Deep Dive, the sequencing of the curriculum, the building of knowledge and possible questions & suggested responses.

Autumn School Census

The autumn school census is 4 days away. Key dates are:

  • Census reference date: Thursday 05/10/2023
  • Hillingdon Return Submission Deadline: Thursday 19/10/2023, this is the Thursday before half-term.
  • Attendance data from: Easter Monday 10-04-2023 - 31-07-2023.
  • Summer second half-term attendance: 29/05/2023 to 31-07-2023.
  • Exclusion's data: 01/01/2023 - 31/07/2023.
  • Leaner Funding and Monitoring: Any Learner FAM assigned and hours, where applicable since the beginning of the 2023 to 2024 academic year (from 01-08-2023) to students who are either on roll or off roll-on census day (05-10-2023).
  • Alternative provision placement data: 18/05/2023 - 04/10/2023 inclusive.
  • Free school meal eligibility data: Periods of eligibility for free school meals with:
    • an FSM eligibility start date and no FSM eligibility end date, or
    • an FSM eligibility end date since the previous census, that is, on or after 19-05-2023 and up to and including the autumn census day (05-10-2023).
  • Post-16 Learning Aims:
    • For the current academic year covering the period from 01-08-2023 for pupils with a status of 'C' (current - single registration) or 'M' (current main - dual registration) who have been on roll and in actual national curriculum year group 12 or above,
    • For the previous academic year covering the period from 01-08-2022 to 31-07-2023 inclusive for pupils who were on roll at any point during this period in actual national curriculum year group 12 or above. Learning aims are only required for those pupils with a pupil status of 'C' (current - single registration) or 'M' (current main - dual registration) at the time of the learning aims.

Please note we are asking for maintained schools to submit their census data by Thursday 19/10/2023

HLP Secondary Teachers of Maths Network Meeting - 10th October 2023

This inaugural meeting is open to all maths teachers of KS3 and /or KS4 and will be an opportunity to network with one another.

Venue: Oak Wood School (Sutton Court Road, Hillingdon UB10 9HT).

Time: 4 - 6 pm

Content:  The event will include a CPD session focussing on mathematical talk in the classroom so attendees will be expected to participate as learners.

Invitation to Primary Schools to Take Part in Recycle Week 2023

Recycle Week is an annual event run by Recycle Now. The main goal is to involve the public in 'recycling more of the right things, more often.'

This year, Recycle Week will take place between 16th - 22nd October 2023. The theme is 'The Big Recycling Hunt' and focuses on 'missed capture' - items that can be recycled but commonly missed.

All primary schools are invited to sign up for The Action Pack to find out how your school can take part. Schools can access free and fun classroom resources for KS1 and KS2.
