Maintained Special School Videos

We are pleased to be able to share a set of short films that showcase our maintained special schools across the Borough.

These have been produced to show families what our schools are like and provide an insight into the experience of children at each of the schools. The short films are available on the Local Offer  so please share the link with families that are interested in knowing more about our special schools.

 

Register for the 'Cut Your Carbon' November Challenge

This month-long, carbon-cutting challenge takes place throughout November. It encourages young people and their families to complete six simple actions to raise awareness and reduce their carbon footprint (such as sustainable travelling, planning meals to avoid food waste, etc). The campaign offers free resources, competitions, and online events to make learning about carbon emissions accessible, fun, and engaging. A friendly reminder that Hillingdon's Waste and Recycling website offers lots of information regarding free available recycling services in Hillingdon, as well as other recycling schemes and outlets. Stories Behind the Poppy: D-Day80

Join a special remembrance event marking D-Day80 with schools in the UK and Canada. Discover stories of Canadian and British armed forces and find out what happened next in 1944. Open to all schools from Manchester to Moose Jaw! Young Enterprise Company Programme

The Youth Offer team are launching the Young Enterprise Company Programme for 2024/25, with sessions being held at Uxbridge Library on Thursday's at 5 - 6.30 pm.

This program is used in some schools as a real world experience for student's doing Business Studies, although it could also of interest for young people with a flair for design or an entrepreneurial spirit. Young Enterprise also meets the requirements for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award Skills section and if a social enterprise the volunteering section.
