Governing Board Email Addresses

Please be reminded that we strongly recommend for governors to use a school email address when communicating on governing board matters. Though it is not mandatory under UK GDPR laws, it is best practice to ensure compliance for data protection reasons.

A separation of personal and governance email addresses reduces the risk of data breaches of the personal data and sensitive content that are discussed by governing boards.   Using a school account is more secure and compliant with UK GDPR standards. It is also advisable as avoids any complications with subject access and freedom of information requests. Governor Hub is also a totally secure and UK GDPR compliant platform for sharing information.

SEND Needs Across Hillingdon

Please find below the updated figures for EHCPs and SEND support across Hillingdon schools. This data has previously been shared with the High Needs subgroup, and it was agreed that this should be shared more widely with all schools.

Schools have expressed an interest in understanding the distribution of needs across the borough, and there is a shared commitment to improving inclusion so that all schools can support a broad range of needs rather than having SEND 'magnet' schools. The data shows the trends over the last three terms.

Within the spreadsheet:

  • Tab 1 shows primary, infant and junior schools

  • Tab 2 shows secondary schools and UTC/ studio schools

  • Tab 3 shows the latest heat map of SEND needs by ward of where children and young people reside.

You will note a range of needs across our schools. Sharing this information promotes transparency and enables us to work together to ensure every school is inclusive and equipped to meet diverse needs.
