AXIS

The AXIS Service provides a direct preventative response to children and young people at risk of extra-familial harm. The service has a focus on four areas - children at risk or involved in Serious Youth Violence (SYV), Criminal Exploitation (CCE), Child Sexual Exploitation, and Missing from home .

The service triangulates a range of systems, analytics and sources to gather intelligence and information shared and received with joint partnership agencies to understand when a child or young person is at risk. Working with MASH, YJS, Police, Community Safety, Education and Health professionals just to name a few.

When identified we can then allocate a child at risk to one of our amazing AXIS Prevention Case Workers youth case workers to conduct diversion and intervention work with them. AXIS can only engage with a child whereby a parent/carer has given consent to proceed.

AXIS offer consultations on children's circumstances , peer mapping , presentations to panels, boards, schools, hospitals to attending strategy discussions and complex meetings around exploitation/serious youth violence . This is a crucial part of the service in helping with an informed and strategic approach to tackling children at risk of exploitation/serious youth violence .
