Children Missing in Education (CME) Notifications

Reminder to schools: Please ensure you notify the CME team as soon as possible if you have reported a child missing from education but they return to your school. The CME team spend a considerable amount of time locating children who are reported missing and it would be greatly appreciated if you could please ensure the team are updated if the situation changes. You can contact the team via childrenmissingeducation@hillingdon.gov.uk  Tel: 01895 250858  (extension 0858).

 


Safeguarding Insert for Policies 

Please find attached an insert for schools' safeguarding policies which is specific to Hillingdon. Schools do not need to update policies immediately but this is available for schools who do wish to include it now or in the next academic year. The insert looks at Serious Youth Violence signs and indicators as well as information on Axis and exploitation.

LA Moderators - Primary Assessment and Moderation 

Thank you to our Hillingdon KS1 and KS2 teachers who applied to be part of our LA Moderation pool. The Council received a high number of applications this year and used the STA criteria to select qualified teachers with the appropriate experience required to deliver this programme. After three rounds of national STA training and testing, we now have our confirmed pool of 33 LA Moderators. 

Schools are able to access moderation training material to share with all Year 2 and Year 6 teachers through LEAP - Statutory Primary Assessment and Moderation - Leap (hillingdon.gov.uk)

Moderation visits will take place during June 2022 and selected schools will be notified on or after Friday 13th May 2022 (earliest date authorised by the STA).

Learning an Instrument Sign-up Form - please share with parents 

Hillingdon Music Service is now accepting applications for instrumental music lessons in schools again after transferring to a new database. Parents can sign-up at https://www.hillingdon.gov.uk/startmusic where lessons are £74 per term and instrument hire is £21 perm (remissions rate available). 

 


The Holiday and Food Programme (HAF) is running this Easter at a Young Peoples Centre near you! - Please share with parents

If you are on free school meals, why not join us for a range of activities this Easter? You will also be provided with a meal each day and it's all free.

Help Young People Understand the Benefits of Sleep

LA Schools' Governance Service Event - All Clerks 

This virtual session is specifically designed for Clerks of maintained school Governing Boards. The LA Governance team will take you through the roles and responsibilities, processes and procedures, good practice and support. No pre-registration is needed.
