Early Attainment Scores Processing

Many schools are raising issues about not receiving guidance regarding the processing of your early years FSP, Phonics Yr1, Phonics Yr2, KS1 and KS2 scores.  We apologise you have not received this information.

In terms of processing nothing has changed, everything except KS2 should be sent to us via S2S or an encrypted email (to attainment@hillingdon.gov.uk).

If submitting the data via S2S please send an email to the attainment email address advising us of the filename/s that have been submitted.  We need this in order to find the files.  As an example, on Friday afternoon a school requested for us to confirm we have received and processed their FSP, Phonics, and KS1.  We had found their KS1 and Phonics data, but the FSP has disappeared into the ether.  Two team members spent hours searching for this data.  We searched files to be downloaded as well as downloaded files - nothing was found.  S2S showed there were 3 Phonics files sent to us, 2 with the same name and one a different name.  We are still looking for 2 of those files.

We are conscious that the PVI schools start closing, for the summer holidays, this coming Thursday, so we are concentrating on processing their data.

Our deadline for FSP, Phonics, and KS1 is 28th July 2023.  Of course, you have all broken up for the summer by then, so we need to aim for a week earlier (21st July 2023).  The DfE deadline for submitting these files to us was last Friday.  We feel if you send the data to us by 12th July, we can process it before you start your summer break.  It will be appreciated if you do send it earlier.

KS2 files should be uploaded to the Primary Assessment Gateway.  From 10th July the DfE will lock teachers' assessments, no further changes can be made.  We are and will continue to download those files and load them into Perspective Lite so you can produce you own reports.  We will place some Perspective Lite guidance on the LEAP website, links will be shared when ready.

Please See Letter Received from Ofsted Below

Invitation to Ofsted seminar for previously exempt outstanding schools

Dear Colleague

As you will be aware, all previously exempt outstanding schools have now returned to a regular inspection cycle following the Government's decision to lift the exemption put in place in 2012. We know that this means many schools are facing inspection having not been through one for some time.

We are organising a series of complimentary seminars across all Ofsted regions, for leaders of previously exempt outstanding schools that have not been inspected since before September 2015. We want to demystify what inspection entails, and the way that inspectors will work with you and your team during inspection. We will explain how the education inspection framework methodology works in practice, exploring the inspection of curriculum and the way in which Ofsted considers evidence, including the use of performance data.

Eligible schools are invited to bring two attendees: the headteacher or principal, accompanied by one other colleague—for example, a deputy, governor or trustee. If you are currently an Ofsted Inspector, you may wish to pass this invitation on to a colleague in your school. We expect the sessions to last no longer than 3 hours.

Please register your interest to attend a seminar by emailing barbara.logan@ofsted.gov.uk.  The seminars will be held at Ofsted's office: 70 Petty France, London, SW1H 9EX. We will confirm your seminar booking as soon as possible.

Yours sincerely

Caroline Dulon HMI

Regional Director, London

Mental Health and Wellbeing Support for Children and Young People In Hillingdon

I have spoken to several Headteachers in the past few weeks who have asked about mental health support services across Hillingdon. Luckily, there are a number of services and others further afield.

You can always access support through Hillingdon's Stronger Families Hub Stronger Families - Hillingdon Council

A list of other services and types of support can be found in two places on our LEAP portal.

The first is a list of mental health and wellbeing support for schools here: Mental Health & Wellbeing - Leap (hillingdon.gov.uk)

The second is a list of services that can support adolescents. This group were commissioned to identify support to 16-19 years olds. However, many of them offer support 11-25. This link provides flyers, other information and referral pathways: Post-16 Mental Health Resources - Leap (hillingdon.gov.uk)

Finally, if you can't find what you need for a child or family here, try Hub of Hope, Mental Health Support Network provided by Chasing the Stigma | Hub of hope.  You can put in your postcode and find local or national services that cover every type of issue.

Please share this with pastoral leads and those supporting mental health and wellbeing.

Thanks,

Michael Hawkins
